What is /ALT/?
If you're looking for a place to post your cartooning then you've found the right general. This is /ic/s 1st and only merged hub where both Eastern and Western stylization can coexist peacefully, hence the double title. However, by community demand and long history, this is favorably an Anime general.

Heh, I think I was over doing the rainbows at first. I like flying under the radar, getting (You)s is rarely a good thing

I bought ~150 copics off ebay for like $400 way back. It was a good investment. Stylefile colors dont look remotely close to the cap color, they also set into a very different shade, and they are inconsistent marker to marker. They are cheap and good for sketching and quick draws.

My go to blues and purples: B60, B00, B01, B02, B93, B24, B99, BG72, BG78, V05, V06, V12, V91, V95, V99. I feel like blue purple and orange have the highest dynamic range in color. Red/Pink/Green/Yellow all look the same to me.

So I am studying anatomy and doing a study on a body builder and was curious if this is correct? The subject has very little fat and I cant tell. Does the Latissimus dorsi fit underneath the brachais and above the tricep? The Teres Major also attaches just above the Latissimus dorsi as well right?

Yes, the lats originate along the spine and waist and inserts at the humerus, slipping in between the coracobrachialis and the triceps. The diagram you posted is somewhat strange, I don't think I've ever seen it rendered like that. It's not wrong, I don't think, but on every figure aside from the muscular one it looks kinda funky.

Here's a photo I found that shows it off pretty decently. You can see the biceps, the coracobrachialis just below it, and then the lats coming in front of the triceps, making a triangle for the armpit.

See pic. I don't really know any tricks other than when one eye is touching the edge, the other is most likely in the middle. Obviously, they should be independently focusing on the object in question (the viewer), but in your case she looks cross-eyed like she trying to look at something close to her face.

I'm always terrified of coloring things. Whenever I try to they always end up looking too saturated, with colors clashing with each other, but when I try to desaturate the colors it looks boring and dull.

How do I improve my color choices? Every video I see just glosses over it with "pick a flat color and paint it in" and heads straight into shading and highlights, but all I wanna do is flat color my stupid shit.

Reference, man! Find something in a style you like, with colours you think look good, and copy them wholesale. Try to get a feel for what colours they're using and where they're using them. Don't be afraid to fuck around, even if it doesn't look good (especially if it doesn't look good)

If you're down you should try tracing it with clean lines and then just adding flat colours for the hair skin jacket and shirt.

Something tells me that line art like that doesn't need any fancy colouring or complex shading and that even flat tones will work.

alright bro, I've seen your art for a couple of years now. Here's what I've got to say.
What I like:
You have very dynamic figures. Your linework is great and you show a great deal of imagination when it comes to the colours and the outfits. Gotta also mention how much you actually draw. Seems like every other day you finish something. That's impressive.
In this particular drawing I really like the hands btw.
What I have problems with:
Your faces irk me. Especially in the front view. I'm not a fan of pointy chins and overly big eyes. Is Jonen Vasquez an Inspiration to you? Oddly enough, I find your faces in profile view pretty good actually.
Something else I don't like is how thin the legs are mostly. Of course I don't mind thin women but yours are another league enitrely. Spider legs, I tell you.
Last thing has to do with lines. I think there are too many corners and spikes overall which often make the characters look like robots. Curves are what makes things look natural.
I don't know how much of this is just personal preference but yeah.
Just know that the pros way outweigh the cons. Keep it up!

Make the head smaller/torso longer. Your gonna end up with her being maybe 6 heads tall with what you have. You wanna aim for the figure being atleast 7 heads tall if you want your anatomy to be somewhat correct. Your doing stylized anatomy anyway, so your shouldn't be too hung up on it unless your aiming for more realistic proportions.

In procreate I made a layer of noise (it should be in the effects menu). I makes it out, scaled it up, used the sharpen effect, then used Crystalize in the liquify tools with max strength and brush size, and held it in place over the vial for a while

Did I mess up the neck height / width of the face in this piece? I don't get it.
