why are normie artists so interested in drawing realistic portraits. I get wanting to learn to be a realist artist but why are the only photos they copy portraits or cars? There are a ton of really cool photos that you could copy but every one is just a face in black and white

I started at ground zero in 2017, I hadn't even drawn doodles in class. But I actually started studying how to draw in late 2019.

Not much difference in the picture, but pre2019 was just eye spam and mindlessly drawing from reference.

I was 15 to 19 y/o. I also regressed even more since 2017; slowly lost interest and drew less and less, but I still doodle sometimes and make stuff for my friends. I guess I NGMIed and finally accepted it. Oh well.
