how do you come up with ideas for things to draw? do you write down your inspiration if you can't draw when it strikes? do you ever want to draw but feel as if you don't have anything worth drawing?

I keep a little notebook, I tend to get the best ideas when I'm somewhere I can't draw (like on the bus on my way home from work or right before falling asleep.) So then I can just look in the book whenever I feel like drawing.

I usually get my ideas when falling asleep/being bored

if I don't have any ideas I just grind images with interesting subjects/materials

i think as an artist, I ought to draw my ideas whenever possible, but there's no getting away from that fact that writing them down is more time efficient. I'll usually do some mix of the two

>do you ever want to draw but feel as if you don't have anything worth drawing?
just draw what's in front of you. When I draw what I see without worrying too much, my mind will wander and I'll usually start to come up with ideas.

>how do you come up with ideas for things to draw?
I only started to draw specifically because I had ideas I wanted to draw. I continue to have ideas I want to draw. Can't really fathom learning to draw without really having anything I'd want to draw in particular.

>do you write down your inspiration if you can't draw when it strikes?
Even if I wrote it down I'd never read it, I'd just have a different idea later.

>do you ever want to draw but feel as if you don't have anything worth drawing?
There's always characters that need designing, so no.

I go to pinterest and reference some poses or that thing I'm struggling with.
