I'm tired of talking to normies who say they want to improve on art and then not take it seriously.
>oh I don't have time
>I feel bad today
>here's a drawing I made 2 months ago
>socializing on discord for 7 to 12 hours a day and then saying they're busy
>ignores all tips and resources
>posting a shitty doodle and saying how serious they are about improving
>draws once a month and disappears

I share videos and art books I think are interesting and they get ignored. Or, I'll get a "that looks cool" and I know they didn't download it. They're never the ones to post anything.

Brofrog you just described /ic/ as well. Nothing you can do here, those who really want it will do something about it.

did you just share whatever you think is cool or did you have a lengthy discussion with the person to understand what they like or their goals and share relevant information

I'd like to have some friends that are serious about improving as well.

90% of internet artists don't actually like art, just the idea of being an artist. So they larp instead of doing anything. Honestly we're lucky though, means less competition.

Hey OP, have you considered that you're just not good enough to be respected?

If a beginner was bitching about my composition or colour theory I'd probably ignore them as well simply because they have no idea what are they taking about.

I don't crit them. I know I'm not at a level to crit people yet. Yet they feel the need to crit on me and any inspirations I post. But they do respect my art, and say "I wanna draw like you" and I send them the videos I watch and I know they don't watch them.

It's a group chat but dedicated to art. They whine about stuff like low followers, and I show them events and contests and they don't do them. While I do.. and then gain followers.. then they complain about how i can't relate to them.

I'm lonely lol I guess I just gotta set my standards way lower for people from now on
>>4557892
No, this is exactly what happened. I met multiple artists who told me they want to improve, that they're happy to meet someone just as serious as them, yet never follow through with plans or challenges. Like for example, one person will say they have a plan to draw for 2 hours a day for a week, I'll say yeah let's do it together and show our work to eachother! And two or three days in, they'll give up. I always end up as the one who takes it more seriously than the other person.

about the group chat- it sounds like the other users are just focused on different things. you should try finding some common ground first, or maybe some other subject if they're unwilling to change their minds about the follower stuff.

and if your friend failed in his scheduling then you should talk to him and help him figure out where he went wrong. it sounds to me like you're socializing with no regard for the needs of others.

You sound cool. Feel free to join /Las/ if you're tired of people that don't even draw.
