Often the commentators are of the same humor as the artist. If not they likely would respect if he ignored or requested the jokes gone.
This is a way some people show appreciation.It comes from a good place. If there were no comments at all it may seem unnatural as well.
Unless you want to delve into full review of the things that make the art erotic or want a wall of one word compliments a joke is a fair middle ground.
