How much does your environment hold you back? Would your art be better if you lived in Japan were fluent in Japanese?

>> No.4534306

if I lived in Japan I would only know how to draw soulless bug """art"""

That doesn't make any sense? if you are referring to le hypertalented asian meme then all you have to do is grind as hard as they did.

But what effect does your immediate environment have on your progress, anon? How are you influenced by your immersion in a culture that makes inferior art to the Japanese?

I wish I lived somewhere more rainy and forested. So much more to see in the forests and so much more atmosphere in the rain and mist than the boring desert I live in.

My main issue is that I never got good art tutoring from a young age because I lived in the middle of nowhere and had no idea that what my high school art teachers were telling me was shit for a good while - I did eventually go to art school but there was a lot of lost time there.

As for Japan, maybe. They seem to place a lot of emphasis on hard work and studying from life even for drawing manga, whereas many art schools where I come from do not have such a strict foundation and seem to be fine with people not studying the fundamentals properly.

The key difference between east vs west is that east lives in a shame based culture while the west lives in a guilt based culture. Le asian genes meme in a nutshell boils down asian artists are more focused in putting hard work constantly non stop to not dishonor themselves and their families while west faggots are too busy trying to elevate every single shitter to equal grounds and venting about non issues on a tibetian ceramic forums or twitter. The answer is ultimately the only thing holding you back is yourself, if you don't like your environment or if you think its undermining you, you can always change it as long as you put work.

Yes I would be much better at art if I lived in Japan or were at least fluent in Japanese.

No but they probably teach them the kind of discipline that you would need to make it as a mangaka.

where do you live? Also you can be depressed anywhere. there are plenty of depressed people in the first world. Your half empty glass is another person's half full glass.

Argentina. People have their stupid first world problems here too, but they are mediocre and passionless so for them living here or in the first world would be the same. For me, someone who wants to learn things and develop as a person, a country that doesn't have opportunities is soul crushing. I pass the day thinking of the things i would love to study/do if i lived in the first world.

What would you change? You live in one of the most developed countries in the Western hemisphere already if I am not mistaken.

>> No.4534622

>>4534575
It is. Education is terrible, the most basic stuff here like brand cola is considered expensive and for rich people, you can't buy anything without paying 90% on taxes to the state, you can't own USD without getting taxed EVEN if you get paid in USD. You basically live to work and work to pay to the state so they can pay parasites that vote for them. Also, we are becaoming Venezuela 2 faster thanks to corona chan.

Where else in your continent is better off then? Other South Americans have always told me that Chile and Argentina were the best off countries in all of Latin America.

>> No.4534654

>>4534639
South America is hell, Chile is pretty bad too and people praise it over lies like how they have "low poor/homeless rates" when in reality, if you have a dirty meatress on the street you aren't considered homeless by the state, it's also pretty expensive to live in Chile and most people have a lot of debt. Also, not only economically this country is a mess but the state is always in favour of criminals.

>> No.4534656

I meant it's not Columbia or the Central African Republic. I know i'ts not a rich country. I should update my understanding of how screwed Argentina is becoming though. That's worse than what I thought this once great nation had become.

>> No.4534684

>>4534656
It sucks to know that at some point Argentina was considered the first world and was the second most powerfull country. Now everything is lost, the culture changed from Tango to Football and people became weak and ignorant thus making the state more powerfull.
