Yes the book I found using that as a search is indeed ugly and brings nothing new. There are a number of similar books floating around (often on vk.com)
But its not the same as OP.
As to your point, sometimes the Asian and Russian books are VERY helpful because the gommunist schools don’t dick around. If something in the West is good but unclear they will make it clearer for their own students. This sometimes but not always results in improvements.

Agreed Im not sure what his books are supposed to do. They dont give enough information to be useful at all.

I have 2 Chinese books that I like that I found on VK a couple of years ago (and theres a bunch of soviet era books, all useful if youre interested in the russian system).
One of them is Bridgman again but Chinese communist poster style. Not hugely better interms of repro quality but interesting.
The other one has Bridgeman and Bammes and assorted realistic anatomy shots side by side, body part by body part. It doesnt reinterpret or clarify the drawings but its handy for its organization and easy comparison.

He actually sat me down and showed me what he wanted me to make an effort to absorb from Creative Illustration - which btw was the most used loomis book Not the others. It’s amazing to this day.
