His books are basically just "Here is some philosophical jibber jabber, here are some drawn examples, now go!".
There aren't actually any useful tips or instructions in his books, just technique and examples.

His books went out of print because nobody liked them and Bridgman had published his own decades earlier so why learn from the pupil when you can learn from the master?

The only reason anyone even knows about Loomis is because it coincided that his shit became library throwaways at the time p2p file sharing became a thing an anyone who searched for drawing on ares had nothing else to pick from in readable resolution for a while.
