Not OP, but I've been making art for myself for a while now. I don't have the marketing skills and I don't like intellectual prostitution, so I decided I won't be a professional artist. I'm working on something else to earn money, and when I have time I make art for myself. This means I make the artwork, and it doesn't leave my home. I don't post it online. I don't show it to anybody. I regularly dispose of things no trace is left, and I'll make everything within my power to carry everything else I've made to my fucking grave. I'm making art for myself, so it's mine and only mine. I practice and struggle but I reserve all this effort only for myself.
It's not hacks like Ilya who disgust me, but the people who glorify them and hold them high instead of despising them, because in this retarded era it doesn't matter how you get successful, it only matters that you get there. Success is all that matters, at the cost of sensibility, beauty, art, creativity. Humanity is retarded cattle who in this era of comfort has finally given up on every other value but money. So enjoy being consumers, gobble away at this shit designed to sell.
I hope that one day humanity will only have this soulless shit to entertain themselves with, and won't even be able to think they might be missing out on something greater while they're jerking off to the retarded shit they picked for the day. You don't deserve a single drop of my sweat, not a single thought I put on paper.

You have a very narrow minded view of success. It's entirely possible to work professionally as an artist, while also making personal art for yourself. Thousands of artists do it every day. Whether they're actually working professionally on projects they're passionate about or choose to create whatever they want in their spare time. Intellectual prostitution is such a hacky things to say, it's a job, you're providing a service and ideally being compensated int that dynamic. It may not be fulfilling to you, but that doesn't mean others won't find it fulfilling.

Complaining about what other people like or how much you loathe something, no matter how justified you think you might be in doing so, will not improve those conditions for the better. Most you get out of that it very brief catharsis. If anything it contributes pointless stress and anxiety that you don't even need to subject yourself to, unless you're some kind of masochist.

You're going out of your way to expose yourself to this stuff, yet wonder why you're so resentful. You're so fixated on the "negative" things, you probably aren't even appreciating all of the amazing creative people and things also happening concurrently.

Irya's methods have been adopted by a bunch more people now so it's likely you won't get as big as he is. But you'll still get a following if you do what he does.
First is to get an instantly recognizeable artstyle. you see Iryashit, you KNOW it's irya. More than being different- it positively stands out due to his application of flats, recognizable sameface and color palette/filters (on a side note, colors is the one thing Ilya is genuinely good at).
Irya is consistent. Be consistent. That's one of the key to success. Not only do all his art look the same and share a similar color palette, he also posts regularly and consistently. That is very important in today's Twitter/Insta sphere.
Do fan art of revelant shit. preferably cute girls. For every guy Irya does, he drew 99 cute girls.
Speaking of cute girls- fear not the man who has practiced drawing 10,000 cute girls, but fear the man who has practiced drawing one cute girl 10,000 times.
He always. Draws. The exact same shit. I'm not exaggerating, it's always the same dreamy 3/4 girl portrait. He has proven multiple times that he's inept at doing anything else.
