I only started drawing recently and this took me six attempts. Just wanted to log on to ask how i could improve my shading. Got any tips? I showed it to my friend who works as a concept artist and he said it was kinda corny...

Well, you suffer what basically all new artists suffer from: symbol drawing.

You have to get your mindset into the realm of construction. Where you draw things based on the forms that they are made up. All objects can be broken down into a few fundamental forms (e.g. boxes, cylinders, spheres, etc.).

Work on that and then some anatomy/proportions. Your proportions are wack as fuck.
