cooking

Think about it. You can "make it" immediately, all you really have to do is follow instructions. But to make something new and delicious sounds impossible to me. In fact, a lot of the foods we eat were made totally accidentally, or out of necessity, or as a culmination of many generation's minor contributions. There was no master chef who invented cheese. Who could come have up with sushi?

learning japanese is easy as fuck
unlike drawing you can actually learn japanese from a book, just get genki 1 + 2, read through all the chapters and do all the homework, review your vocab and kanji every day and bam by the end you'll have learned simple japanese, move on to the next books to become fluent

meanwhile with drawing, i've read loomis, robertson, hampton, bridgman, none of them have any fucking exercises so i just draw along with the books, and by the end what do you know i've just copied a bunch of naked men and i haven't learned jack shit and i'm still terrible
drawabox is the only drawing tutorial ive seen that has actual exercises and homework, but of course it's the most retarded shit like draw 10000 cubes because yes that's definitely going to help me in drawing complex forms and vehicles and humans, fuck.

I can't think of anything. Creative writing is kind of similar in that it is very difficult to teach, and thus very difficult to learn if you don't find it intuitive. I think it involves a lot fewer sub-skills, though.

I think you have to get into very obscure stuff or ridiculous feats in order to actually find anything as difficult as drawing. Learning the Navajo language is supposed to be nearly impossible for anyone who wasn't constantly exposed to it growing up, and I imagine that learning to play the violin with your dick while juggling chainsaws might be a bit harder than drawing.

You could easily make a catchy little tune from a specific genre, but with cooking making a new food requires you to understand the spices, the ingredients, and what they compliment. How would you make a new Indonesian food? There is new stuff like cronuts or burrito + X, but that doesn't compare to a dish like curry. Just my opinion

Not if you don't interact as much with japanese. Plus there are people in there that work as translators in places like hospitals. You'll learn the basic to survive there, but decent japanese only with some effort.
A lot of dekasegis for example only know the bare essential to not starve to death and be able to work, and most don't even know more than 30 kanjis.

>what's even harder to learn than drawing?

By /ic/ standards you only "make it' in art when you live by doing it. Following this same principle I would say being a pro athlete is much much harder, you can always start to draw at your late 20's and still make money latter in life, you can take long breaks in art and go back to it without having to start from zero, but if you want to live from running, boxing, or whatever you better start from childhood, never stop and have the body for it.

Fucking hell, should we start a club?
Add me to the list, learned the Japongo in a couple years and still commit /beg/ mistakes on a daily basis when drawing.

Time to learn Japanese (N1) from scratch for a monolingual person: 2500 hours.
Time to learn how to draw just the basic human figure: 9999999999999999999999999999999999 hours.

Besides, learning drawing is way more "active" than learning languages, you can't just watch 300 episodes of Loomis and practice your eyes, you have to burn through dozens of pencils. And I'm too (un?)autistic to endure the repetitiveness of the grind. MMOs never managed to get me addicted while all my friends tried to go for level 999.

I know it can be frustrating, but honestly most of it is just not being afraid of drawing. There's not just a how, but a why.
