Look up Benjamin Zhang Bin, color of the shadow doesn't matter. Just because it reads as purple doesn't make it wrong. Shadows can be any color. You can even make a paper that is black appear white in real life. Or yellow as blue, etc. If it's ugly for you then I have nothing to say, but something looking alien purple because it's in shadow isn't unreal.
