This but unironically. Cave paintings often used the natural curvature of the cave walls to give form to the drawings, and if you were to bring a torch into one of those caves(which the people who painted them probably did) it gives the illusion of painted animals moving.

I mean the author right for critiquing opinion that art needs to be certain medium to be "proper" art. But if I look at his comic, I get the feeling he is just salty because someone compared his weak fundamental digital comic to a traditional painting.

Not to mention the fact that art was intended as a way to spiritually connect with nature, to materialize your wishes for a good hunt, to catalogue the world around you despite no written language even existing.

Canvas painting is just a weak pastiche with no spiritual connection between the artist and the painting.
