Art that requires more technical skill filters out all the fart smelling faggots and only leaves the truly passionate and creative people standing.

i can sculpt and paint, and of the two sculpting is much more unnecessary work. i started programming a couple of years ago, im not at a level where i can create what i want with it. but i see that the potential is awe-inspiring.

Leonardo was more than a bit effete, and possibly gay. Michelangelo was definitely gay. I read these comments as one gay man being VERY catty towards a young upstart gay man who was winning commissions that he felt he should be getting, and stealing attention away from him. Leonardo was very narcissistic, and loved attention, so this young, from a lot of accounts ugly gay man from Florence showing up and upstaging him definitely triggered him. How you can look at the David or the Pieta and be pissy about it just says to me Leonardo was SEETHING because sculpture was one medium he never truly mastered, and his greatest work never got cast because it was poorly designed and too big to accomplish, and that bitch Michelangelo talked MUCH smack about that.

Never discount social bullshit when talking about the old Masters. They were human and just as fucked as we are.
