IF YOU ARE A /BEG/INNER IN ART, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the /draw/thread with our fundamental exercises.

Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, or you literally are never going to make it

Please don't fall for the drawabox meme if you're planning to draw humans.
Peter Han is better, but don't follow his course either if you want to draw humans.
There are a shitton of artists that specialize in figure drawing that can help you out way better.

Drawabox works well for other stuff like insects and exotic animals because most of us aren't very familiar with those things, so even if you mess something up it will still look fine.

>>4374191
Let's say you want to learn line weights. Don't just grind line weights like a robot. Grind line weights but also figure out how what you're doing can be applied to what you want to do. Study other artists who do line weights like you want to do line weights. And then draw something for yourself that involves many uses of line weights so you can practice what you've learnt.

The joy in learning does not come automatically. It comes when you can see what you've learnt helping you draw what you want to draw.

So when people tell beginners to do fundamentals they don't mean "do nothing but" fundamentals. They mean you should be studying the fundamentals alongside drawing for fun, so you can apply what you're learning and immediately see an improvement.

It's just that. Every time you practice something you put it into a piece you want to create. And the more you do this the happier you get and you'll just start looking forward to learning something new because you know that it WILL and HOW it will improve the drawings you want to make.

Which obviously leads to the point that you should be studying the things that will make the art you want to make better. If all you want to do is draw Steven Universe fanart, then a deep understanding of perspective construction is unnecessary and you should just brush up on the basics of perspective then figure it out from there.

This is standard self improvement stuff. You will never be happy if the only thing that will make you happy is a good end result, or even worse, likes. It's the process that needs to make you happy.

If you like drawing than drawing should make you happy, not a JPEG file at the end of it.

>> No.4374214
