sorry if there was a better board where i could have posted this. I figure some of you guys know your shit.

I drew something in gimp 2.8 and I select the layer of just the line work. And when I paste it into photoshop it I thought I would just get the black lines and the rest would be transparent. Instead what I get it a blue line and a black background. Any idea what I'm doing wrong here and how to fix it? All I want to do is paste the lines from gimp into a scene I already started in photoshop. and then render it all together.
