I used to think this was a meme, but I’ve been drawing more and now my wrist gets sore after a while ;(. What do I do I don’t want to become disabled

I've nothing to offer your predicament, I just wanted to chime in on the pic. This is real, and I have permanent horizontal ridges on my drawing hand pinkie from what I assume is the constant cutting off of circulation when drawing.

That's your problem. Your wrist pain might be from carpal tunnel, RSI, or something. As for your fingernails, it could be from psoriasis or arthritis.

>>4327527
Have you waited 6-12 months for the nail to grow out? If its been that long, you're fucked.

But don't get your diagnoses from the hacker known as 4chins; see a doctor if you're really worried.

And take breaks, ffs.

This is what falling for the "just work harder than anyone else" meme does to you. did you at least make some decent gains?

I get this too. All I know to do is take regular breaks and stretch.
Carpal tunnel and RSI is my worst fear

your wrist doesn't get sore after drawing for a long time, it gets sore because your death grip the fucking pen, and apply too much pressure. you deserved the pain and deformed fingers because you're too retarded.

is overhand grip + drawing with arm safer?

strengthen your wrists. I used to get that seizing pain as well. It's sometimes like pin and needles or like a cramp. I thought I might have some kind of arthritic thing, but I talked to a doctor and she recommended I exercise.
You need to keep them warm when drawing to keep the blood flowing through and you need to lift weights to give your body strong muscles their so you can strain them more.
I did this and it cleared up.

Unless you grip the pencil like a retard, how the fuck does that happen you your nails?

Draw with your arm. Keep wrist movement minimal and try not to press down so hard.

It makes a world of difference.

Also, a lot of you need to remember to stretch and engage in regular exercise. If your body isn't used to physical activity, you are more likely to injure yourself through repeated activity.

Don't be like Zack Morrison.

If you want to draw like a retard.

This idiots thinks they have to draw 12 hours a day in order to make it, funny thing they don't make it and also ended up with wrist or hand problems.

1. Buy a Vertical Mouse to reduce strain on hand, wrist and shoulder.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xR7NUTyU6UM
2. Do not hold your tools too tight.

3. Gotta stretch
-shoulder muscles
-upper arm muscles
-neck muscles
-obliques
-chest muscles
All that shit is in one way or another fucking your hands and you will know which are too tight when you stretch them and feel the difference. (for me the obliques and chest muscles being too tight fuck my hand.)
