Post inspiration art in this style. I've recently been enamoured with this art style,What rescources aside from the sticky are useful for learning how to draw this way? This sorta art is genuinely beautiful

Is it possible for digital art to mimic this textured feeling with enough edge control?

He was one of the first openly gay artists/celebrities. He would've gotten lynched if he was a blue collar working in a ghetto, but he met only high class people and everyone overlooked it because they could hardly deny his mastery.

Emulate to an extent. Best you can get is to look like a photograph of a painting. If you’ve ever seen a Sargent or Sorolla in person, you’ll get what I’m saying.

it still looks digital because it has the weird "opaque but transparent" thing that is unique to digital. I don't know what it is called but would love to know.

>using hard round brush for mimicking the texture in a trad painting

I won't pretend that I'm great at art or know everything there is to know about art,but isn't the hard round brush good for mapping out the larger shapes in a piece, rather than for trying to replicate the texture of trad brushes?

>> No.4315264

>>4315253
You make the texture with your brush stokes.

>> No.4315271

>>4315253
This particular trad style used smooth rendering and not really any super visible brush strokes, so it's easier to mimick in digital. you just replicate the appearance of wet overlapping and blended paint which is easy to achieve with hard round. Then add a texture over the top at the end if you really want it to look traditional.
