What is /ALT/?
If you're looking for a place to post your cartooning then you've found the right general. This is /ic/s 1st and only merged hub where both Eastern and Western stylization can coexist peacefully, hence the double title. However, by community demand and long history, this is favorably an Anime general.

"Art Models | Life Nudes For Drawing and Sculpting". I always had difficulty drawing the figure until recently, now that it has become a bit easier I'm getting use out of it.
Deviantart also has many users who will post themselves posing in unlimited poses so that's a good resource too.

Values are really inconsistent and all over the place on her skin when they really don't need to be. It looks mildly okay full sized, but the thumbnail speaks volumes. Nose is completely borked, and her right eye (our left) is placed very far away, compared to where the other eye is placed.

What’s a good resource for learning how to digitally color? Color has always been my biggest weakness among other things, and I really want to make my work pop more and not look half finished. What can I do?

You should continue practicing figure drawing before stylization anon, I won't lie it looks really bad but that's because you haven't practiced enough and don't have a sense of form. It will come out when you shade even with redline. Watch a few dozens of videos from Croquis Cafe (and draw) and redraw, it will look much better

if you want to improve your shapes there are a lot of artists you could study. KJG, joel jurion, kokimantarou, ovopack, victor kalvachev, carter goodrich, shaun tan, zedig, and a bunch im forgetting at the moment. I think ive learned more from looking at other artists and trying to break down what they do than i have through strict studies.

I'd recommend going through Loomis's Drawing the Head. Even though you draw in a cartoony style much of the anatomical/form issues you face can be aided by using a model like the Loomis head as a base, which you can then construct more exaggerated features upon

Good on you for experimenting with angles, but the face and chest perspective here needs some work. Also I would implore you to look into different “blush” techniques/solutions on your characters, it feels like you throw them on like autopilot. blush shouldn’t look inconsistent or cluttery, and because it’s supposed to show cuteness/delicacy/flusteredness you dont ALWAYS need it on a character

Maybe try to rotate the revenant so that it is leaning to the right while Doomguy comes from below right to top left to punch him in the face. And you can even implement the right hand grab that you did in the first picture pulling revenants top half down for a better punch.

Neat Anon, don't forget to flip your canvas now and then. I'd use more shadows on the underside of the nose, use your brush strokes to articulate the angles/shape of the nose more. Also define the hair, no reason to be lazy with it, use your strokes to define the direction of the hairs.

I had a look. I agree that some (not all) examples are horrible. But then the examples that the author posts as "good" are mostly overrendered stock images. What the person behind this account seems to not realize, is that most of what we design is heavily influenced by the clients' art direction. Sometimes we end up with things we absolutely hate and wouldn't put our name on, but such is the nature of this job... That said I like my characters, I stand by them even if they are "humans of flat".

Fix that nose, for starters, based over extending white box anon. I think you are a great example of someone who needs to drill their fundies to develop a real command of proportion, first of all, so you can measure things such that you can produce shapes that are easy to work with later on - when you're rendering/adding values. By using value you're supposed to be giving the object weight and position in space (or else why bother??) but it doesn't add up when you commit to wonky measurements then it really begins to look you struggled to make the thing appear 3D, it'll never be perfect, and that's ok, just get asymptotically close. Otherwise the result is a piece that doesn't believe in itself, aka a polished turd.

This was the pose the client wanted, and they didn't pay for a background. Showing hands wouldn't have been a big deal for this picture, I think the main 'focus' was pretty obvious. But ty, I'm more just concerned about the shading and pricing.
