I want to write a book to learn to draw, focused on begginers who don't know or maybe don't care or don't realize what they need to know.

But I want to focus more on the mindset and how to approach the journey, how to maximise improvement, the power of discipline, how to build a proper one year curriculum to learn to draw.

I'm not a professional and I think /ic/ would call my art not professional or even mediocre, but I've gotten normies in facebook to ask me for waifu and tutorials.

In any case, this book idea is more like a mindset tutorial to properly learn to draw and shit.

Also, teaching what's the purpose of perspective, or why you need a color pallethe or just tricks like knowing how to use reference and 3D tools to cheat.

It's more focused on the meta part, than teaching anatomy or perspective.

Wonder if /ic/ would be interested in the ramblings of a failed artist and how to avoid decades of stagnation and my overall experience they would need to start to practice hard and become good in a short amount of time.

And I want to create a YouTube channel better than Proko to teach people how to draw.

But I have to get out of /beg first.

a web tutorial seems like it would be much easier to get into than publishing a book, and potentially be just as useful/popular.

unless you have connections in the art or publishing worlds already, something like this would make a lot of sense to springboard off of your professional website/portfolio etc (you have one ofc, because you're experienced and good enough to do this, obviously) as a coherent collection of blogposts.

I think the book should be about abstraction. So I made a misguided thread about trying to incorporate transformation matricies in art, then I realised that I just needed to figure out how to apply the types of transformation in perspective (Translation, Rotation, Scale, Reflection).

So basically the problems that I had before was lacking abstraction. I think thats why art books like those by Andrew Loomis, mention early on that all forms can be constructed from the basic forms (Square, Sphere, Pyramid, Cone)

Who knows, maybe you're a bad artist but a really good teacher. You should know however that there are thousands of artists who think they're gonna change the world through teaching, and you have to somehow differentiate yourself and outshine them.
If you're not sure how, maybe you're better off doing something else with your time.

Some quick writing advice.
It seems like you're missing the point of having a wide vocabulary. The entire point is to help you get more detail in a more concise way. If you just use purple-prose it doesn't serve any other purpose besides making it sound like you're trying too hard.

I'm going to say this as politely as I can: what makes you think you're prepared to teach others, when you haven't mastered the subject you intend to teach.

"I want to write a book on teaching astrophysics, when I haven't learned about it yet."

Cart before the horse, anon.

Kek is this actually sadlawn's second attempt? And he failed again? The absolute state of pseuds.
But failures are an underrated source to learn from, a big reason why I still visit /ic/. Survivorship bias is something many people overlook.

Yes, but only if it's an unbiased, neutral and honest documentation of what you did in your journey, letting the readers decide what to do with the info.
If you are what you say you are, then any action-based advice from you which can only be grounded entirely on hypotheticals is worth next to nothing, as you are clearly not a good source of wise decision-making.

I wish you good luck on your attempt to make a book though. I as an absolute beginner would be interested to see what people from here think is important.
