Why is Disney's style universally accepted while anime's is mostly panned?

I wouldn't be first (or the last) to say this, but man I fucking hate the 3D Disney style.
Some of the keyframes for Frozen were gorgeously animated but they had to stiffen in the fuck up to fit into the 3D style.

Are you sure about that anon? Have you literally not been on Tumblr/Twitter?
Also "Anime" as an artstyle is far, far too broad compared to "Disney", since the latters artstyle is mostly dictated by what single animator dominated that era.

Anime is considered too nerdy by people in the west, and let's be honest, the kind of non-Japanese person who gets into anime is usually an outcast of sorts.
Meanwhile, Disney is just that thing that most westerners grew up with. So of course it's universally accepted.
