Back when the process was being implemented, the way standard was explained to me give me the impression that it has more to do with legibility and completeness. I haven't been around the community for a long time so I don't have a very strong sense of how the average quality was like.

I only occasionally upload to HF so I never really have very strong engagement on that platform, however HF have strange long tails when it comes to discoverability for some reason. I will get inundated with emails when someone suddenly went through my gallery and start book marking stuff every few weeks.

Depends on the weeb artist. Look at a few people gesture/figure draw on youtube and understand what they are doing and try to emulate it. This is going to be your first steps in starting any piece. Try doing some gesture/figure drawings of your favorite pieces. Try to simplify the process so you can replicate it consistently.

I know for a fact that my faces are not good, it's just, that critique above is not really reasonable. Not every faces need purpose to look good, unironically Ilya drew some very good blank faces staring at the void, the problem here is I failed to execute it. If you watch my other pieces you can see that I tried different faces, different expressions all the time... Do they look good? Nope! But it's not because I don't try , or avoiding this and that. I'd like to experiment new things, and failures is inevitable in the process, it's better than drawing a same face over and over again I guess.

Second, people here is so quick to judge. Just because I copied other artist's work once, they accuse me to do that for life. Sometimes I copy photos, sometimes I copy other artists, and sometimes I just draw. At least half of my works are purely drawing from imagination, but seem like crabs can't accept that truth huh.

Apart from re-drawing the hand a bit the posing would work just fine with a drinking horn and that would fit with the theme of the image - plus, depending on the size and orientation of the horn she could either be drinking out of it or spilling wine into her companion's mouth or just holding it
