People won't pay for porn unless you force them to, followers are the worst indicator of how much money you'll make when it comes to porn.
If this guy released only 1-2 pictures of his Curly lewds, then put another 10-15 in a gumroad pack for like $5-10 he would have made a ton more money. Another benefit of this is that people who genuinely enjoy your work for more than a simple follow will be the ones that buy it, which is who you want to be interacting with in the long run anyway.

Give it away for free and they will fap for free, simple as that.

Social anxiety is just an excuse. If yours is unmanageable then get help of a therapist or read some self-improvement literature. Nobody's telling you to get a regular job. There are plenty of outlooks for remote work, you just need a skill to sell and a bit of an enterpreneurial mindset. How realistic is it that you will suddenly get 10,000+ Twitter followers who all want to commission you on a regular basis? Not very much. Making money on anime titties is a meme and if you don't pay taxes and social insurance then sooner or later ZUS and NFZ will get you for being in the grey area.
