it's really tough, they always pick the most difficult angles. I looked at both modern and classical books and all the modern books have easy angles for poses. Classical books teach you to draw faces that are turned in the most difficult angles and this is what you see in these drawings.

Bargue has a few images of this, but there are other books. I'm trying to make a notebook with all these so I can practice each day.

dedicate your life to it from a young age, learn from masters and copy them. robert beverley hale drawing lessons from the great masters and master class in figure drawing are great resources. vilppu and huston sorta teach it too, they're heavily influenced by it.

helps to understand what they used.

one of the goals of /ic/ should be to get /beg/ to this level

>> No.4164415

>>4164414
but this would actually require /beg/gars to apply themselves, which they don't like to do, hence why they're /beg/.

it's totally achievable too. the biggest beginner error is getting away from drawing contour

Until someone distills one of these drawings into a step by step tutorial, nobody is going to believe this :/

So far its provided nice ‘ahah’ moments while reading it, and the exercises are pretty nice but most of them so far require a model which I dont have :( so its been alot of work with a mirror/ self portraits where I can

>> No.4167314

>>4167289
It's not that.

This thread is full of great drawings, but KtD isn't really the path to get you there. It's written in a dilettante sort of way.

I'm inclined to think Juliet Aristides book on drawing and sketching might be better, but I need to look at it again to see how difficult it is for someone to pick it up fresh.
