I've just been using CS5.

Once upon a time I heard tell that Adobe didn't really care if individual users pirated Photoshop, since they make their real money from corporations buying licenses, but I don't know how true that is anymore.

oh yeah that is the same version. i once knew someone who had an issue that whatever language they chose, the UI would still be in spanish among other issues. this was about a year or so ago, so sometimes issues just happen i guess

clip studio is good (it goes on sale all the time, wait for a sale)
corel painter is on a massive sale for 25$ rn but probably isnt worth it when it goes back up to 400$
krita is free

Yeah I'm kind of liking Medibang so far, but it's taking me forever to figure out. Nothing feels intuitive anymore after spending more than a decade learning the ins and outs of Photoshop.

i'm not a big fan of medibang, i like using firealpaca more for at least sketching. it's a solid program that people can do just fine with, but not my thing personally.
krita, sai, autodesk sketchbook, all other solid free programs. try everything and see what works best

desu I just use csp and it does everything I want for purely art purposes, get it on sale for like 30 and you keep the software forever. I had photoshop but it always crashed and lagged when I did art on it.

I left Adobe as a whole recently for better software (namely Medibang and Davinci Resolve) but when I was using it, Adobe fucked around with the installation too.
Without knowing any specifics, disable Genuine Services and use Adobe Zii vs. some weird direct patch.
