The scale can be sold a lot better.
more atmospheric fog in the background.
and make sure that things match in scale, the trees for example are gigantic 6 times as large as a house? this leaves the viewer asking if the houses are so small or the trees are so big. Nailing these kinda things can help you sell this a lot better.

Looks like you've taken a render of a 3D model of some dude, blasted the image with some photo elements, painted over everything lazily, ran the whole thing through Topaz, and added some noise and chromatic aberration.

The composition is okay but every part where I can see you've painted stuff looks pretty bad. I think you should go back to basics for a while and come back to more advanced techniques when you have the skill.

You can try eliminating straight lines and parallel lines in the composition. Think snakes - you won't find a straight line or straight action anywhere. Look at the left girl's left lower legs and the right girl's left leg. They are practically parallel if you draw an implied line through them.

The right girl's left arm's implied line fuses with the left girl's ribcage. That's not what "intertwining" implies.

The left girl's implied line of the head mirrors that of the right girl's spine.

Why are their heads separate from each other? A kind of a hug would be better. A neck kiss maybe or a direct kiss even or a deep look in the eyes? Etcetera etcetera. If you want to intertwine them, you know what do it. No straights, no parallels, maybe opposite curves. Google caduceus.

>> No.4109134

>>4109104
Thanks, i'll try to keep parallels in mind and i'll adjust the legs. I'll try to reposition the arm to be grabbing the butt or something. I'll figure out something for the heads, but i don't wanna turn the faces away too much so as not to be visible.

Uhh... Just because someone is better than you, it doesn't mean that the person is at professional level yet or above common sense feedback. I don't care if it looks "good" to you. If you don't care about glaring mistakes and bad artistic habits in digital art, then fuck off to some other forum where you can keep sucking dick instead of giving feedback.

>nobody but judgemental self righteous dildos on the internet

Yes nobody except dildos like me and clients that this guy might be getting if he leveled up his painting skills. Now I don't know if this guy is looking for work but if he is, you can be damned sure that any professional art director or lead artist at a videogame/concept art/illustration-establishment would see all the same mistakes I saw and ask him politely to go study the very things I pointed out. This is not about being mean. Just seeing things for what they are.

Tl;dr: You're probably too much of a beginner to even be evaluating digital art in this thread. Dunning-Kruger much? Stick to /beg/ or simply stfu when others are giving feedback.

You're projecting all of your inferiority onto other posters while inflating the apparent mistakes as "glaring".You come off bitter. So any "critique" you try to give is questionable at best.

Most people who are insightful and have the skills to back it up don't have the sentient you express.

So point to the part that was patronizing or inaccurate. I described how OP is probably doing their work and pointed out what's wrong with it. If you can't take critique like that or if you want to project a "tone of voice" into what's being said you're probably delusional. The stupidest shit is when other white knights come in and start protecting the original artist from feedback. Now that is patronizing.

When I receive feedback I take my ego and emotions out of it and look at what's being said. Is the critique accurate etc. I don't even care if the person is being polite (which I was). I even said that the composition was nice.

I don't even care if the person considers my opinions. I think they should but it's up to them. I can't do anything about that, but what I do hate is when beginners jump in and claim that a piece is better than it is. The same type of thing happened to me in the last thread and I had to jump in and tell the person to stfu because I don't come here for compliments or hand-holding and I don't want this place to turn into another circlejerk cesspool.

what i would do is find about a dozen different photos of people from different angles (if you go into the artbook thread there are tons of references you can find - hyperangle, the grayscale photos of the asian couple works well).

observe the head from those different angles, and see if you can come up with a way to simplify the head into basic shapes. if you can draw those basic shapes together and sculpt them into a human head, it might help you draw a human head from imagination.

but i would highly suggest doing dozens of studies of actual human heads from photographs before doing stuff from imagination

i think the colors are very successful, i think you just need to take a little more time rendering and hiding your lines. you do have large areas of flat color which kind of ruin the very nice lighting work on the more rendered parts and make it seem flatter than it should (area on and around pocket, vertical section of the hat, cuff of sleeve) but i think if you just gave those some soft edges and gradients youd be fine.

you could stand to increase the contrast too, the entire clothed body kind of reads as one value from far away, if you just darkened up the wood of the gun it and put the pocket in perspective i think this would be a very good drawing (far eye is pretty wonky too)

Noses are super easy to draw
First you construct an approximation of the final volume/form from within using primitives as building blocks. You use whatever to get as close as possible. In this case the prism helps you get the nose in perspective and in proportion first, then you add ovoids or spheres in strategic places to build it up

Then you just sculpt with cross contour line and/or tone to give it the characteristic/unique form that you want.

It's technically furry art, but it doesn't look like it's made by a furry, i.e. someone who is in the community and actually gets off on this stuff. It's as if you commissioned a traditional portrait painter to draw anime. There's a stylistic mismatch. That's not to say there wouldn't be anyone wanting to commission you.
Obviously there is no reason you couldn't eventually get the hang of it if it was something you wanted to pursue but I am just saying that's the impression that I get right now.

Hey guys, i know this isn't the right thread for this but i'd like to know how hard is to get paid for drawings online. You know, comissions and that kind of thing.
Something awful happened to me and i could use the money. I usually draw for fun, but i think im at least decent at it.
I wouldnt mind drawing nsfw, i heard the furry community is always looking for people to draw their fursonas. Is it true?

ive done a lot of commissions the way you get them is to build an audience it doesnt need to even be an art related audience, in fact its probably better if its not. i used to run a conservative facebook page a couple years back with around 300k followers and i was making great money with commission work and everytime i finished one, i advertised it on my page and immediately got more work. you need to build an audience, that will get you commissions. that is not an immediate thing though, it takes a lot of time.

I tried copying that one anon's process video. Left is before I tone adjusted cause it didn't have as much contrast on my main monitor. Just want to get good at this so I can pick good contrasting lights and darks when I use color. Getting more familiar with hard round brush and when to change hardness, enable size sensitivity etc. It's cool what you can do without special tools

I have a general question, not to do with this but I wanted to know how saturated your lights and darks and midtones are when you render in color, realitve to one another. I'm always afraid of using muddy colors so I try to keep everything as saturated as possible and on the lighter side, which doesn't work out for me.

it's more useful to think in warms and cools and global color than about saturation imo. like let's say we put your titties under a neon red direct light, yes they'll be saturated b/c the only light source is also saturated. if we put it in a white room w/ diffused window lighting on a cloudy day, it wont really be saturated at all, probably just a slightly cooler version of the local color.
this is why painting from life is so valuable for learning.
