draw from life. then draw what you like. if you like anime. draw people from life,draw pictures of people. you need to learn the basics of fundamental art before you do anything. if you dont like doing that, than you will only embed your errors and will fail and unlikely reach your full potential. dont waste your time drawing anime if you're beginner. You need to study the basics. Once you start to solidify what you learn, apply it to what you want to draw, anime, landscapes,creatures,concept art, etc. Do not draw from memory whilst you are still learning the very basics.

Literally me. I mostly do studies of animators even though I want to become a webcomic artist. I've also had comments saying that I draw like an animator. I do plan on dabbling with animation sometime in the future( to improve my sense of 3d) but I'm not interested in it as a career.
