Do I start reading Loomis or Hamptons figure drawing books as a beginner?

Both, and see which one you like more.

Both. They complement each other. Personally, I prefer Hampton's because it is structured better and more descriptive.

You don't start with figure drawing. It's the most difficult subject you can possibly pick. You just get frustrated and give up. Try still lifes or landscapes.

Find a collection of Muybridge human figure photos, there are a couple of thousand images. Draw them all. Don't waste time reading, talk and drawing are natural enemies.

Look into all options, choose the one that feels more suitable for you, and then fill a sketchbook.

All of them can give you good results, butfocus on gettinga good volume of work done. Don't expect to get results after 5 pages. But after having at small sktchbook filled following some isntruction, you'll start getting somewhere.
