It's not really just about the algorithm anymore. Twitter just recently stopped people from being able to bump their own posts and can now shadowban your account if you RT your own posts. I see all artists from /beg/ to professional level artists always bumping or RT-ing their art.

Also as was discussed before in another thread, the new Twitter website update over crops your art when it's viewed as a thumbnail image.

I honestly feel the the only reason DA is known for how it is now is due to lots of people having left it over the years which actually resulted in the weird fetish artists making it their home instead. Sure, if the staff actually did their job and tried to properly moderate the site it wouldn't have been as bad but I honestly think if everyone started using it regularly again then we wouldn't have to worry so much about fetish art always making the homepage.
I get that a lot of artists like actual social media sites these days since it's more casual and also easier to network with but as an artist its more and more frustrating that the best places to find new art are on sites that makes it near impossible to find it unless the account is art focused only and/or tagged properly, both which are still pains to go through even then. Tumblr is garbage but it beats even Twitter at this.
