Should I make different accounts for lewds and my sfw works (mostly horror and similar)? It seems kinda strange to me to mix them together, and I've never saw any artist that has different thematic at the same acc.

Even just different subject matter should have a different social media account. If you have an art website with a portfolio you can have both up in different sections but if people follow something on social media they just want to see that.
For porn it's the same shit, people don't care about your regular work.

>> No.4048915

I have about 2000 followers and I mix my content. You have to be godly to grow a base with sfw content alone. But I actually get feedback on my sfw stuff because I have s decent sized fan base

>> No.4048916

yes.

i have like 7 different portfolios, websites, monikers, instagrams, twitters, etc etc

it kinda sucks though, you cannot divide enough attention to lots of projects for them to grow. 1,2 at most 3. past that it's not feasable.

You already asked this and I already said yes- Most (on 4chan, mind) do not believe it's gonna hurt your prospects but there's no way it's going to help

PROS of Separation: 1. no baggage. You can work as a squeaky clean artist at Disney one day.
2. Your lewd fans will not show up at cons and in your social media and drive away any other fans you try to attract.

CONS: 1. Splitting yourself up is hard work
2. lewds are always more popular than sfw

I don't know if your lewds are tasteful. If they are you might be able to post both in the same account.

Has there been a moment where someone found a link between two of your monikers?
And should that be something to take into consideration when having an art alt? as in, drawing slightly different or with a different style to avoid the two overlapping?
Or is social media just so big there isn't a chance someone could put figure out you're running two accounts?

>> No.4049099

i was paranoid about this at the beginning, and tried to have slightly different styles and workflows and brush preferences... but eventually i said fuck it and just started doing the exact same process for all projects. They differ mainly in theme, so there is still an avoidance of obvious overlap (furry bara porn, human porn, somewhat more taste furry straight porn with lots of nonporn furry)

Nobody ever has expressed suspicion. It's too flooded a scene for anyone with such a keen eye to ever come across both your art accounts, and I feel like even if someone did, he would probably just notice some similarity and then his interest would immediately jump somewhere else.

So I say, absolutely do not worry about this. I've even reused old psds between projects, reworked a thing here or there, changed the base colors, flipped the pose, reworked the background, and tada in 15min I have 'new art' to post. Nobody notices that either.

unless he was some kind of autist, but those are rare on the internet.

im too paranoid for that. if you get too popular weaponized autists will find your porn account. pic related is Shmorky getting his fetish alt found out.

but if you're that popular i guess it doesnt matter since you've "made it" at that point

That sounds self correcting

If you split your work into sfw and nsfw accounts, use your nsfw account to retweet/reblog your sfw posts. This way you can leverage your nsfw popularity. Unless of course you want absolutely no connection between the two online personas.

>> No.4049892

i messed up the cons. its still a bit of a con to have your nsfw work more popular than sfw. you eventually become a girl who wonders if men want her for her tits or her personality...

so it takes a mental toll.

maybe on twitter specifically, but on other sites as long as you're not the literal bottom of the barrel /beg/ tier shitter you'll do just fine

you can have a base on deviantart, but is that a living?

da is more of a portfolio type site tho, comparing it to insta, tumblr, twitter or pixiv isn't exactly fair

I'd say it's a pretty good idea to separate SFW from NSFW content, just in case.

I have an alternative username that I set up for NSFW drawings, and it's only really there for a "just in case I want to post some tiddies" situation.

Is it possible to work in multiple styles?

>> No.4054828

>>4054709
It wouldn't come down simply to things like how you draw the eyes and proportions. I mean it could but if there's clear similarities that you didn't notice at first, you could end up in a situation like Shmorky's.
I'd suggest you keep some stuff distinct from each account, different habits like how your lineart looks and how it's rendered, color choice, preferred theme in your content, backgrounds, upload schedule and time if you really want to get down to the details etc.

This. Try to keep palettes you only use for either artstyle too. And don't re use assets between them. Keep themes and assets restrained to one style.

There was this one retard that got caught, forgot his name. But they knew it was his alt because he made fanart of the same unknown comic in each of his accounts.

what about focusing on an everything goes nsfw unfiltered brand while developing portfolio peaces secretly for the future

also artstyle isnt enough proof to condemn you

>> No.4056490

There's no reason to hide it but plenty to keep them separated. The subjects are distinct enough that the audience can reasonably care for one but not the other. You can just make two accounts and link from one to the other.
