Is there a way to make painting as entertaining as music movies tv or animation?

Make speed painting contests, where the participants paint each other in 10 minutes, the best one wins. There's a board of judges, plus viewers voting, plus an objective measuring of likeness. There can be professional leagues of competitive painting, associations and stuff. Also maybe other disciplines, like a long painting competition, team games, painting random things from imagination.

I've been thinking about this since I saw Blown Away on Netflix. Would a reality show with painters/2D visual artists work? Excluding tattooists..

The entertainment comes from the finished product, just like with movies/music/etc.
I'll bet watching the 7th unedited retake of a movie scene in a row is about as interesting as watching an artist meticulously rendering an orange.
You're comparing apples to oranges.

Your post is ambiguous.

Do you want to have as much fun painting as you do watching TV, or do you want the process of painting to entertain others as much as watching TV would?
