Western art is technically better for the most part. You just like "cutie" faces and big cartoon tits so you see way more anime than western stuff. This is an anome image board, the Japanese dont produce anything significantly better in terms of raw skill, the Russians are head and shoulders above everybody else.

Its really interesting actually, Japan has such a unique style because for a HUGE amount of time their art style was uncontaminated by any other cultures, it only significantly changed once they took in western influence. Look at this picture, it's from World War 1 and distinctly Japanese. Anime is nothing but an extension and modernization of this unique japanese style

US has a harder work culture, but we have the benefit of not being forced into "social" events. For the most part in America as long as you're friendly at work, when the day is done you can because say fuck it to everyone and go home to jack off as you please. You're not "forced" to hang out with people. In Japan they might work like shit and watch youtube videos for 12 hours, but then they're forced to "socialize" for 4 hours after that. And the one consistent I've heard from Japanese people I know, is that socializing with people in Japan is a huge pain in the ass because of the social structures they have in place.
