what good animation courses you know?
Im aware animation along with 3d sculpting are the most hard disciplines on the visual arts, but anyways, I want to get familiar with it from now.

im searching for 2D animation, btw.

As an animation fag, the more I think about it, the more I realized that this is the single most important lesson in animation. Ever. Everything else is secondary to this and a waste of time if you don't get this. So read Preston Blair if you want to learn some more, but this is basically animation in a nutshell.

before buying a course or going to school for have you decided this is your career?

if yes:

whats your goal?
r u trying to get into the industry? do u want to do poor qlty animations on YT, good qlty animations on vimeo?

assess the amount of time per day you hone your skills. Does your calendar/schedule have blocks of time with specified skills you're going to be building?
(r u sure you're serious about this?)

if you're going for it solo(and cuz ur posting here im gonna guess u are) take some time read some free books online before committing to a course.

just make sure you're able to do work for this on your own.

for example i use adobe animate for simple stuff, like if i want to post on instagram.
but even though i was proficient in toonboom, i read the adobe An 2017 book and followed along before i began making my own projects in the program.

How well do you understand the program you're using? Are there features like tweens or advanced options u don't understand?
are you at a comfortable place with your program? not having to fight or look things up about how to do something in it?

maybe you're doing pencil and paper?
have you studied early works like 20's oldschool. the principles and such?

the basics are everywhere and you dont need to buy into someone course to study and lean the you just have to know where u can start with the skills you posses and really put in the time and effort to see yourself get better.

show people what you can do and get feedback.

if your beyond all this and or even if you aren't and you believe having someone guide you(hold your hand) along the way well,

its your money, not mine.

sorry i dont really have a course to suggest, but if you live in canada i know udemy is a great place to check. Their credentials are great because they've real uni and college profs. designing the course and appoint very knowledgeable people to answer Q's 24/7, if they're not fast enough to respond themself.

adobe animate. mostly because anyone using it create simple oval square-ish characters and animates without actually drawing anything except the concept

Any craft gets easier the more you do it.

the only way to start animating is to actually fucking start lmfao. even the best animators were garbage when they started out. hiding behind your "depression" or "mental illness" bullshit rather than actually doing shit isn't gonna make you any better at animation or art. it just makes you seem like an unlikeable cunt.
quit being a kid and grow the fuck up for once.

Best animation course for 2D that I know of is AMB Animation Academy.
I myself have only watched the free stuff on YouTube, but I'd love to see the private paid content on Vimeo if I wasn't strapped for cash.

If anyone has a megaupload of any private AMB videos, I'd be eternally grateful.

AMB is great, just know that even with tutorials certain things about animation take lots of trial and error to get right, even the basics, especially if you don't have immediate access to help that a professor would provide.

my animation and comics are total shit and everyone on /ic/ shits on them but for the first time in a long time i feel like i'm actually doing something productive because i'm not letting me be my greatest enemy to the life that i want.

as some artist once said, you gotta make 10,000 shitty drawings before you get gud. how will you ever get gud if you never draw?

pic related, i just made this ball animation and i'm so proud of it because i overcame all my excuses and just did it. someday i'll be making great animation and this is a stepping stone for me.

I really like this, it reminds me of how the Japanese animate. You basically got 3 poses, give each some subtle movement to give the impression of fuller animation, and it comes out nice and snappy. The effects are nice too.

Yes, I like animating from key frames a lot.
If you have solid poses, the image comes alive so quicky.
