Hello /ic/. Recently I decided to get back to drawing. (Im 18yo rn and I drew a lot of manga back in the middle/high school) I read that copying is a good way of learning do what I do is I take a screenshot of a frame form anime I want to draw, I boot up photoshop, paste the screenshot, set the opacity to 10% and redraw the frame. Is that a good way of learning it should I just go trought all that anatomy stuff and drawing from scratch books? *pic unrelated*

tracing with no knowledge of how the artist approached the image won't get you far. if you want to draw like an anime artist, you study like them with books. if you want to draw like someone who traces anime screencaps, then do that.

also, read the sticky you fucking wog

I would rather copy from photos. But chose your photos wisely to not make it too obvious (no popular photos for example). And never copy a photo 1:1. Use multiple references and mix them up, add your own imagination to it.

Drawing manga style well is not that hard once you know realistic anatomy etc.

Reading all these posts here makes me feel like everyone here wants to become the next successful proffessional artist. Like who are you trying to fool? If you really want to do that, then why are you wasting your time shitposting here and telling other people "to give up" instead of improving by yourself. I got acutally mad over some pixels lol. Thank you for the advice tho.

Download Clip Studio Paint, learn to post the models organically, and draw anime girls onto them until they look right and not like shittily traced models. Then you know form and congrats you can draw anything.

>become the next successful proffessional artist
Anon, are you 14? There's no such thing as "the next successful professional artist", dozens of successful professional artists enter the market every month, it's no big deal.

Draw finished work and then study what went wrong specifically and try to make a better overall picture each time. Don't listen to these retards, the hardest part about "learning the fundies" is actually applying them to your work and understanding what you need and what you don't.
