Redpill me on hitokaku, anons. People say it's like a japanese version of Loomis. Is this true?
I have his "It's Fun Drawing People! Face & Head" book. Do I just endlessly copy everything drawn in the book in order to learn?
I tried translating the pages using Yandex but the translation is awful, as expected.

>> No.4013436

Learn Japanese or just learn from looking at the pictures :^)

Hes okay but Id rather draw like hampton than like him (his figures are stiff kinda) so I copy hampton instead. I think it really just comes down to personal preferences, if it clicks with you just copy what he does, and if you don't like him do Loomis or Bridgeman or whatever appeals to you.

It’s probably the most succinctly taught construction resource and the guy makes sure not to leave gaps on your skill (think how frustrating the hands chapter is in loomis kek). He also teaches “dynamic sketching” and intuitive perspective without making it a gimmick like han or drawabox.
Not even a weeb but i wish this was the first thing i came across on /ic/ instead of drawing the hand and the head, would have saved lot of time

Thank you for the input, and I agree. I'm still beg as fuck after fucking around with loomis, drawabox and whatnot. Then I discovered hitokaku and it suddenly was way easier to interpret the different concepts

I need to read more Japanese in order to practice, but I also want to improve my drawing.
Currently I'm juggling between doing Hampton's anatomy course and reading Japanese fiction.

A book like this would unite both my interests and be a god send. But the art sucks, are there any better options?

Why the fuck would ANYONE need a """""japanese loomis"""""""" when there's already a fucking tested, approved english Loomis???????????????

What do you expect to learn from that? How to make a backwards comic? If you wanna do it so much then you should be learning japanese too.

Two threads already. Shit, if you guys love japan so much, learn japanese. I tried, IT'S NOT SO HARD and it's good for your resume.

Loomis is actually an awful intro to the fundamentals. The knowledge you need to understand his method is scattered troughout his 6 books in no particular order and fun with a pencil fails to click with most of /ic/
