I know it's very tempting as it seems like you're saving big bucks by having "Cintiq" experience and a laptop.

Except it's nearly impossible to replace the battery. So you're fucked in the long run. 2 years tops and your laptop will become a useless brick

Go check "ifixiit" and pretty much all 2-1s have batteries that are nearly impossible to change unless you're a repairman... and that's assuming you will find one that will take the risk and change it.

At least apple will replace the battery of an ipad for a fee.

Unless you're a richfang and you can afford buying replacements everytime the battery starts to fuck up, you really should avoid them

I got my Surface Pro 4 in 2016 and it still works just as well as ever

Only things I've had to replace were my pen(lost it like an idiot) and most recently my charger last month

batteries aren't eternal. There should be a reduced battery life at least

Damm that's a expensive batter...also I think cintiqs are shit too.

KYS first

So you had to go to reddit to find one EXPENSIVE model that allows you to change an expensive battery proving my point.

Most models can't do that.... this is for poorfags.

also KYS first. I am not shilling wacom. cintiqs are shit too.

>> No.3992053

Pretty much all expensive models. Have a battery you can’t easily replace.

Just get a $300 iPad and Procreate or CSP like a modern digital artist

This. It's the only portable option worth the price.

I got a lenevo flex 14 that I wanted to use for drawing and I hate it. Terrible palm rejection. I think the only good Wacom pc tablets are the ones that used EMR. Battery free and eraser end.

>>3992089
Yeah I also forgot to mention that most of them are shit. I think Wacom's studio and surface might be the exception

Thinking of doing this, is there any model/generation of the ipad you'd say is the best? Also, procreate is a one-time purchase, whereas csp is a subscription, right?

>> No.3992201

>>3992184
Pro is the best due to extram RAM but the regular $300 works fine if you are in a budget.

You're correct on procreate and CSP

just get an ipad.

So do you need to resolder new batteries in these or something? I don't think that's that hard to do. Seems kind of like a good subskill to learn as a digital artist. Traditional media artists learn all kinds of useful subskills to upkeep tools. Like making charcoal, making paint and brushes, stretching canvases, etc. Are digital artists fucking retarded?
