I'm a big fan of shit like this. If you get really high and look at it, it starts to look hyper real or like a still from a 3d vr stop motion animation and the guy on the left looks like Tetsuo from Akira. This era has the biggest bugout factor.

19th century of course-- it bridged the classical and traditional with the modern, and a deluge of Eastern influence with Japonism. It was peak aesthetic, and every day I long for a renaissance. You had movements like Symbolism, Secessionists, Colorists, art nouveau, the Aesthetes-- etc.

The highest points were the Renaissance and then the XIX century. That sweet spot of loose academicism like >>3991731 >>3991730 is the highest degree of sophistication ever reached.
I don't think we will reach any higher. Artists are now unfettered by many of the limitations of artists in the past, you don't have to draw shit from the Bible or portraits of nobles anymore, but the intellect of the common man is >>3993339 so maybe we were better off with nobles. To make use of today's freedom and make truly great art we would have to fix our economy, fix our education, sober up from inclusion politics, throw immigrants to the sea before they poison our culture, and so on. This will never happen, we're probably going back to medieval times and destroy all art and knowledge made by white men before a natural cataclysm or WW3 wipes us away.

What does this have to do with intellect? Just because you are a hypocritical faggot, who doesn't like girls, doesn't mean you are any smarter.

It's not uncommon for artists to draw girls they want to fuck. Some of the best artists did this. So why not just also draw them in a sexy way?

Anime art has a low ceiling-- a lot of it lacks skill, much of it is divorced from reality, and is too easy to produce digitally. I would think the "best" art would require more skill, and observation, and expression, than your typical anime moe-blob tits crap.

anime has a low ceiling, but we reached a point where aesthetics is reliant on attractive stylization, which is in itself a concept barely tangible on a very concrete level.

we took something that is essentially intangible to us and turned it into a mass produced, varying field that draws in people from all walks, we've gone beyond merely copying the real world and trying to recreate subjects within it looking accurate; and instead created a new world that is completely reliant on what draws in the soul

i think that is why anime currently deserves to be considered the best, or at least should be revered to the same degree we do all the other stuff posted in this thread, for future generations

Picasso could paint realism with ease. People like you have small brains and don't actually understand what art is.

Similarly, Bouguereau is kitsch trash and most of his work was done with an archaic projector. Congrats on liking the Thomas Kinkade of the 1800s.

Bullshit. People who go from realism to abstract shit, only do this because it's more comfortable for them.

Realism actually requires a lot of work, while Picasso could shit out drawings on the fly later, and get millions for them.
