I find the works of Tetsuo Hara, Kentaro Miura and Hirohiko Araki to be real awespiring. The roughness, grit and (sur)realism(respectively) within those drawings is what I aspire to include in my developing style.

Just found out about Hiroaki Samura, I'm loving his work, I also really love Gustave Dorè, although as a beginner it's a little harder for me to study his works, but man are they beautiful

hm the coloring and use of values literally looks like frazetta, but the way the girls are rendered especially the clothing has clear digital aspects to it, so I assume it's SAI with a grain finish on top. That being said I've never seen it done like this, it's quite impressive

I can't stand the colored version, it's ugly in a very non-Araki way. I know it would've been a pain to pick a different color palette every scene but seeing green grass and a blue sky in that style is almost unnerving. Not to mention how washed-out this version of SBR looks in particular.
