The people chasing this unrealistic dream of making it into the industry, hoping to become happy from slaving away for some soulless corporation producing conveyor belt illustrations or designs, probably already invested too much time into it for them to be able to accept this fact and turn back now. Poor souls forever stuck in loomis limbo. If only they could accept the truth and just draw for fun and be truly content.

I wouldn't say it's too late to turn back. I could always go back to school for a meme coding degree. It's just then there comes the "you will never amount to anything with coding as there will always be someone better than you". If you can't be a X genius coder who makes investors drop their panties then what's the point? Sure you get a high salary but I this "I wan't to be exceptional and irreplaceable at this" will follow me over to another career path.

So I might as well just stick with drawing.
