Why would you not use them. If you're an unknown it's the only passive way people will find your stuff.

>> No.3935313

Use tags on every social media except for Twitter and Pawoo
Pixiv for example. Use the tags

>> No.3935333

How else are you suppose to market yourself and get noticed with content constantly being pumped out flooding over yours. How are people suppose to find you?

Yes use tags.

I post my art with a link to the Twitter on Reddit and Discord but the people there have yet to follow me.

why shouldnt you use it on twitter?

Integrate them with the sentences in your tweets rather than leaving them just floating.

Idk why people are so pussy to use them on Twitter, it doesn't make sense.

Because it makes you look like a tryhard who doesn't understand the platform. Tags on Twitter are associated with 40-year-old boomers/moms/boomer moms and soulless corporations. The only time you can really get away with tags is if there's some fotm meme fad that you're participating in, like that time everyone drew furry porn of the Twitter mascot.

People don't really use tags to discover stuff on Twitter, either, they use retweets and looking through people's follow lists.

This is accepted if you already have a large following to retweet you, you fucking retard.

My first ever post on twitter was a super shitty sketch that gained these stats using a simple tag.

tags are useless for me anyway because my art for some reason doesn't appear in the search. I post sfw artwork and checked if I'm shadowbanned, but my art still doesn't come up. Instead you go on the tags and you see random art from the day before with no likes.
In any case Twitter is absolute garbage for art unless you want to draw porn, because with porn you access a completely different world. There are a ton of people who make accounts just to follow porn artists and they retweet almost all the porn they like. So if you use a fetish tag and you post art related to that, all the people actively looking for that fetish will retweet you. This way you quickly build a public. I fucking hate this because porn actually works the way all art should work, people like a thing and they retweet it. But for some reason people don't do this with art that isn't porn, I don't understand why. Are people really completely uninterested in stuff that isn't porn? I only think about masturbating every other day, how is it possible that people are so horny?

If you don't draw porn Instagram is a lot better, you can tag everything to shit and people will discover your work much better than Twitter. But it's a LOT more competitive and high effort than Twitter, you need to have a beautiful looking gallery for people to land on so having a professional look to your pictures matters a lot.

Pic related and self bumps are the success killers. Tags are fine if you have around 20 followers; the spark that lights your success is beyond understanding.

I see successful people do this all the time and it works for them. All the advice on this site is completely detached from reality, we live in an era of begging, artists beg for likes, beg for ko-fi money, that's how it works today. Being quiet and humble and patient does not pay off at all.

This dude tags his stuff and probably draws better than you yet also has middling fame. Start socializing imo.

I wonder how many fellow NGMI artists around my skill level with 30 followers there are on social media. It's really scary to think about. Technically if you're not completely /beg/ you are in the top 5% or something like that but how many people are we talking about?

Over 1000 at least

On twitter I have 1885 followers, a few on insatgram aswell mostly through shitposting with discordfags and using the social media thread. On deviantART I don't even have 500 because well DA is so riddled with kids and freaks it's hard to get noticed unless the admins put you on undisovered daily even with tags. Artstation I only have one because it's pretty much ded and used by pros for jobs.

>> No.3935802

Artstation needs a fucking forum is what. But at least they're anti degeneracy unlike DA and everyother art site.

Eh really? It seems like there’s 100,000’s at Draw thread skill level

It's the only way I can ever get followers. I got no friends, and I'm too proud(or foolish) to lick bigger artists' boots.

The best way to get and to get massive amounts of followers is to get a shout out or a tag or a mention, etc. from other accounts sharing your work.

>> No.3935980

Is it worth it to post your art on reddit?

>> No.3935993

>>3935980
Depends on fanbase.
Even if you get 50+ upvotes, that won't transfer over to your Twitter. Some Reddits can't even be bothered to notice posts if they aren't within the top 5 posts too, lovely.

I’m really glad the destruction of traditional industry and community and the hyper competitive worldwide rat race created by the internet will prevent most of my art from being seen by anybody outside of immediate friends and family
