>There are people on /ic/ right now that actually believed they owned proprietary software.
Um, no sweet teas you are merely given permission to use the software under a license bound by a contract under Adobe's terms of usage. By Adobe discontinuing old software and thus relinquishing support they've effectively nullified the licenses and per the terms of agreement you are hereby prohibited from further use of the product. You actually never owned the product, you merely paid a nominal fee for the privilege to use it.

>>3931169
it's shitty of them to literally force their customers to update their product, but it seems like the customer never owned a "product" in the first place but was rather paying solely for a service. I guess this is adobe's excuse to avoid being liable since other rules probably apply for services.

Still forcing the customer to something they don't want to is the lowest of the low, what if the updates are shit, someone had better compatibility or features in older versions, or just wanted to stick with the stuff they are comfortable with etc.

>> No.3931205

It's the whole Dolby thing, even though Adobe won't say it publicly. Adobe is just covering their asses because they don't have the licence for Dolby tech anymore. Dolby isn't going to sue random users, they're going after Adobe for back rent on licensing fees.

It is a result of the Creative Cloud, but in a weird, IP-related, legalistic way. Still not happy with the way it's being handled though.

>An actor who had a bit part in the 90's blockbuster "Jurassic Park" has been charged with raping a 13-year-old girl who approached him about acting lessons, police said.

>During one of the alleged attacks, Cameron Thor, 54, drove the alleged victim to a secluded area in the tony Agoura Hills section of Los Angeles in 2008 and raped her, investigators told local KTLA-TV.
>Authorities said the assaults occurred over the course of 11 months, from April 2008 and ending in March 2009, authorities said.

>Thor was arraigned in L.A. county court Thursday on 11 counts of kidnapping, robbery, rape and sex crimes on a child under 14, authorities said.

California sentenced him to 6 years in jail, register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

since he's registered as a sex offender I assume each sequent punishment for the same type of crime will be greatly increased. also from that paragraph we know all the crimes, but not how sever they were

and besides, the idea of jail is for reintegration in society to be able to work again. whats the point of a long enough jail to make somebody unable to do that when they get out? only to waste tax money? might aswell kill him by that point

imho anything over 10 years is an exaggeration, if you want to give somebody over years of prison might aswell sentence them to death

well I'm no computer expert so I dunno, there were also comments saying it's no danger, a sample:

1 Accordind to Anti Virus NOD32 it's infected

2 Do you know why in the description of repacks they constantly write "disable antivirus"? Because repack changes or adds some system files.

3 This is the 1st file on CGP to ever give me problems. It worked but was not whole. Messed with BitTorrent, messed with my antivirus, messed with my web browser, messed with windows explorer, Adobe CC now keeps popping up saying that there are issues... Maybe it's just me, but fair warning

4 Scanned the system after installation with Malvarebytes, found a threat - the same helper.exe. But wow, after installation I quarantined/deleted it.

5 I tried running malwarebytes after the installation and it does tell you it suspects about the remaining "helper.exe" left in the temp folder, it calls it "generic.malware/suspicious". After resetting the pc though, that file dissapears on it's own just like temporary files stored on that folder generally do, so it could be a false positive.

6 The installer gave me 27 unwanted malware that infected, and took over Chrome. Seems like once cleaned with Malwarebytes all is good now.

7 This is definitely infected.

8 this installer comes with a virus that takes over you browser,(hi.ru)

dammit. fuck pirates who ruin torrents. a cleanup with malwarebytes might remove the problem, but who knows what damage could have already been done when the viruses were on the system...

I thought if you used the export option in Photoshop it would strip all exif data by default. But maybe there's still some information contained in the file that identifies as coming from PS?

>good comics
There are so few good comics that I can pirate everything released in a week, buy the one trade that actually deserves it, and spend less than $20 in the process.
Comics are awful.

Capeshit isn't the only type of comic IP that gets optioned, retard: Mark Millar makes a living churning out shitty concepts in the hope they get picked up, and things like Joe The Barbadian and I Kill Giants have adaptation rights bought all the time.
