You are competing against other thumbnails that are next to you in a gallery, if you want more eyes to go towards your image consider zooming out to fit the profile of a thumbnail and bring about more eye catching vivid colors, details, and composition that are contained within the thumbnail.

Silly OP thinking that a quiet life of drawing what he likes will lead to popularity. You gotta draw those relevant animu characters or post “witty” replies to e-celebs if you want that.
Style’s alright tho.

Just think like I do when that happens. They're probably seeing it, but it's very likely that you're not good/flashy enough to make them care or comment.

Doesn't that make you feel better?

>start getting pms about my "techniques" and one guy even offering to help me set up a commissions page
>get overwhelmed and flustered
>never log in for months
haha ok that was retarded

if its on twitter you can see the engagement even if it doesnt get faves or RTs so if youre a real masochist you can go see that not only are people not sharing it, theyre not even looking

Does it feel like for anyone else that the only time your followers are "awake" is when you're retweeting other people's shit. I hate modern day social media. I miss Deviantart's heyday 10 yrs ago when you can see the art of everyone you followed under the watch category. It didn't matter what time you uploaded because your followers could easily see your art for their watch list.

Now in 2019 with modern social media (twitter, tumblr, instagram) your art has to compete to be seen against hundreds of other posts on your follower's timeline about inane bullshit. You could filter the blog posts and shit on devianart. Modern social media sites exposes your art to more people but these sites are absolutely not made for artists.

This. Just drawing gives you a higher probability of succeeding with a meme followed by people going back and liking your old stuff.
