if you rotated it correctly, more people would point out your anatomical errors like her torso being too long near the neck and the tube arm in the back there. I see the same sort of things happen when people draw huge tits or have some object at the chest. Normally all the sexy parts would be hidden by the object the subject is holding.
But I like the way you paint and use color. Someone that doesn't pay attention to or is picky about these things would be happy to pay maybe $150 for that. The background looks half assed, maybe quarter assed. I don't have any idea myself of what to do with it, but because this is very reminiscent of those 50's advertisements and pinups, I suggest looking there for ideas and inspiration.

Somehow to me this looks dated, in a way. It's not the anime face style (it is a little), but the way everything is rendered says to me 2007-2009. I think it has a lot to do with the evolution of painting capabilities of digital programs and the influence of western digital illustration on anime. If you look at people like Cutesexyrobots or uh, hyanna-natsu (https://www.deviantart.com/hyanna-natsu/art/Video-Commission-Divine-Blessing-787084933 I pulled names off the front page of dA, excuse me) you'll see that there's a lot more effects like using the skin color over the hair to soften the face and focus on color harmonies. You have a lot of the same elements in you picture, but they're really subtle, which doesn't help you to be eye catching.

Even though this is (partly) a well rendered illustration, you can still tell that this from a /beg/, just look at that undynamic pose, the hideous face, and the off proportions. You're not wrong. It's one of the first acrylic pieces I've done larger than A3, and in the class assignment we were supposed to do something similar to Goergia O'keefe. It's a study in every sense of the word.

I'm just wondering if It would be worth enough to do another large painting, if I could sell this to someone for 80--100 $ it would pay the cost of materials and be enough for the next project, which hopefully will be more creative.

I like your color themes, it's very niche but you could probably make 25 a print at an art festival. Far as originals though, probably anywhere between 150-500 dollars depending on size. I see a lot of shitty artists in galleries in my area never sell a piece because they outweigh the value of their art and charge absurd prices. Sculptors and found artists might make more because they're not as common as painters. There is definite potential for your work but be reasonable when selling to potential buyers. Even 300 is a good sell for a medium sized painting, you're at least buying back all your materials + more.

Anons, don't listen to the advice in this thread.

Pricing art can be tricky and depends largely on the subject matter, use of art piece, platform, reputation/consistency, market/comps, etc. Putting all of this aside, there is no reason to sell your art for 5-10 dollars. You're using your time, skills, materials to make bespoke art for people. Your time is worth more than that, at that point just go on fiver.

I realize that in a lot of cases getting paid for your work at all can be a huge dose of validation, like all of the (you)'s you get after delivering in a drawthread. There's nothing wrong with that, and I feel it too. But don't stoop to the fast food model of commissions, you very likely won't make it up in volume and you'll burn out.

Rule of thumb: market as much you can, then charge a little higher than you think your work can sell for. If it sells too fast, it's too cheap. If it doesn't sell, come down on the price. Remember this is an optimization problem.

I feel like it's not that it's muddy, it's the fact that the local color on the body doesn't have any context to it. It's just superimposed over a saturated square which gives it the impression of being muddy because the square background is so pastel and colorful whereas the main subject is using more subdued colors.

If the background was given some similar treatment then it would've looked better.
