Line weight refers how a single line can become thicker or thinner depending on the amount of pressure you use. Can be very visually appealing if used correctly.

Looks like you just used 1000 short hairy lines to give a thick border to the octopus. Doesn't look good.

First of all you don't want to use multiple lines when you could just use one.

Practice making longer lines and curves. Then practice making lines and curves that get fatter and thinner by changing the pressure you put down on the pencil.
