Drawing with what you're not used to has to be one of the biggest memes. It's like resetting your drawing abilities to 0. Just do it the way you have always done it.

That's a good thing.
You must unlearn what you have learned.

All the concepts and your "sight" and artistic intuition still stay with you, all you're doing is learning good habits and improving your ability to draw. Starting at 0 is the best way to grasp all those fundies all over again, and reinforce what you already know.
At the end of the day, it's another way of drawing that you have in your tool-set, and that's not a bad thing.

if only there was a way to repeat that movement but harder to the point that your muscles break down a bit but then repair themselves and grow in size

>draw with the arm
Came someone explain this meme to a brainlet like me? What does this technique look like?

move only your wrist. now move only your elbow. now move only your shoulder/arm in its socket. each has different levels of precision and angle of rotation. larger joints like elbow and shoulder help you get more loose but confident lines. wrist or fingers for details.

How would drawing from the elbow/shoulder work on a small (non-screen) tablet?

>> No.3898215

>>3898206
I draw with my elbow mostly on my 10"x6" huion but i do that with traditional too. if you have a small size tablet you should get rid of it and get a medium. small tablets are a meme.

>> No.3899262

i drew with my elbow for so long holy shit before i really sat down with drawabox and used my shoulder

the issue now is drawing lines when you can't have the paper on a flat surface and tilt it the way you want for the easiest possible line

i bought a stand for my 12in tablet and i find myself putting it in my lap more often than not because my lines while using the stand are trash

yeah, sometimes that used to be my best input method. i think sycra or sinix talked about doing that too at some point because it got so comfortable. luckily now i have a desk where it works but space can get pretty limited. i would need a stand that was about 70-80 degrees before it'd be comfortable for me if it wasn't on a flat surface.
