I have Fun with a Pencil, but I find it incredibly boring, probably because I don't like the art style. If I just looked at a guide like this and drew heads from all angles, is that enough?

If all you are doing is reading you're doing it wrong, you're not supposed to read it you're supposed to actually draw and utilize his approach on how to work with the basic forms to draw regardless of style whether it's his blooks or your moeshit.

Forgot to mention Loomis explains that you do not have to exclusively use his approach it is just one of the many and you may modify to fit your needs.

No just look at the pictures, and if there is a drawing that doesnt make sense to you, actually read what says before or after it.

Yes. Michealangelo, Da Vinci, Van Gogh, Picasso and every other great artist you've heard of has read loomis. Even the ones that draw anime. There is no other way whatsoever and you must read through all of it at least 3 times before you can even consider yourself the most base of beginners.

>> No.3896763

no you don't
there is plenty of other material
huston, vilppu, bridgman for figure fowkes for portraits

Dunno, never bothered with Loomis. I just read Vilppu, Hampton, and Peter Han. Everything else I learned from youtube videos and social osmosis through /ic/

LOOOMEES. Pretty cool. I wonder what he's saying.

Fuck no lol.
Literally just google “perspective drawing” and “construction drawing.”
/ic/ likes to pretend that this is esoteric knowledge only available in very few and very old books, but the truth is that the knowledge is timeless, and loomis certainly didn’t even invent it.
