I did get a similar vibe based off aesthetics but I’m probably not the best judge of that since I don’t watch much anime movies. I definitely prefer Shinkai’s faces to this guy’s though

Honestly it just gives me the same feeling I got when I saw From Up On Poppy Hill. It looks like it should be good, but it isn't. It's like he doesn't understand what makes anime interesting. Maybe too much after effects and shit just leaves too little to the imagination or something? It just seems pretentious, in an off kilter sort of way.
