IF YOU ARE A /BEG/INNER IN ART, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the /draw/thread with our fundamental exercises.

Previous Thread >>3884811

Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, or you literally are never going to make it

RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead
2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

TRY TO GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

REMEMBER, if you've just started out you work will not be good, it doesn't need to be, just get in to the swing of actually drawing, and learning how to study. Most of all, enjoy it.

I don't know how to argue against simplicity.
Programs like Blender, 3DSMax, Maya, ZBrush have an equal number of special toolsets made for specific tasks with millions of piling dropdown menus.
Do they make less money wasting time on extra gadgets catering to a small audience? I don't know, but that's what they're going ahead with so there must be some audience using those tools.

>Why do people always recommend photoshop?
>I mean realistically speaking, wouldn't you just need a few things outside of canvas settings, custom brushes and color: layers, rulers/shape tools and masking?
>I don't really get it since one of the apps I tried infinite painter gave me all that and masking but I've only ever drawn in pencil on paper so I Don't get what's so bad about that
>Even Clip Studio seems to just over complicate things instead of "just fucking learn to draw what you want". But I'm literally only practicing with pencil and paper for like a week so I might be missing something
>What I'm wondering is why the fuck is something so complicated and advanced, with more tools than most people will ever use, something that's standard
Well, firstly, Photoshop is a photo editing tool. So it's gonna have photo editing features.
Secondly, What features are you talking about? All tools are useful if you understand them. Maybe not though, depends on the type of work and how much you want to rely on skill. And as for people recommending PS, it's because it's got a shitton of tools that help if you understand them, and the fact that it's industry standard. If you want to stick to the basic tools, no one will stop you from using anything.

probably a stupid question, but i'm only just starting out, so here goes

how do i draw a PERFECT cube? (or any shape with SPECIFIC dimensions, for that matter.) the front side is easy, because all the lines are parallel to the picture frame, so i just draw a square. but how do i determine where to put the line above, to make all the sides equal? it looks like the red line is closest to what i want, but how can i determine the depth precisely?

so would you say most artists simply rely on intuition there? am i being too autistic for wanting to be super precise about it? i read through one perspective book, and there were all those vague tips, like, "it's good to place the vanishing points well apart, to avoid warped perspective", but exactly how wide apart is "well apart"? it makes me frustrated, 2bh, i thought drawing was supposed to be relaxing

heres a tip, remember that the eyes are not flat instead they are balls so as they turn you won't be able to see their whole surface but just some part unlike when they are in frontal view, add the bridge nose, front, eyebrows cheekbones, nose and they could be not seen at all, so when you are rotating the head you need to take all those details in mind, easy to say it than doing it i know.

i use this simple construction, i just draw 1 horizontal plane the face and another that i will use as a direction on where the head is facing, one is dived in 3 equal parts to represent the eyes and the other will have and area to represent the dimension of how deep the eye is, the rest is just using loomis shit, i know is not perfect but it's a nice starting point then you can just fix minor mistakes

I just hate how I draw because I used to draw crappy little cartoon characters when I was in Middle School and I am worried that I have entrenched that habit so heavily that I am just stretching that shitty concept around the drawings that I do now even if it isn't true. I understand that "motivation" isn't really something to be concerned about and that just putting in work is enough. My lack of motivation comes more from me being confused and not knowing what to do at this point besides "just draw", because apparently the books I read didn't help, as others can't see that. I believe I understood what I read and what I did read I drew alongside it to try and internalize it. I basically just read them because I was told to do so, unsure if they would actually help me. I draw every single day for at least an hour and have a folder that contains everything I've ever drawn.

These are very quick messy sketches that I am not really proud of.
