how do i draw cables without dying in the process?

i've seen many complex robots drawings and there are times where they make drawings of their internal parts (cables, engines, microcircuits, etc.)
It looks like a lot of random lines, but when I zoom in on the drawing, I see that they actually have a lot of detail and they are not as random as I thought,like, they draw them as if each part was already very pre-meditated, i’ve seen other people trying to draw them, even if they are just lines, they don’t look that convincing and end up looking like spaghetti
how good it has to be my visual library to be able to draw cables this well, it's too complex for me, I can’t build such a complex / detailed thing in my mind by myself, i dont know where to start, is there any art book about this topic in specific?

To me, it looks like the one in the pic are drawn in clumps, the same way you draw hair in clumps, then the individual wires are added to the clumps rather than strands of hair.
Maybe try something like that and see if it works for you.

maybe try doing what I did in the background here, but less lazily. by that I mean using horizontal curved lines to convey thickness and direction. also do what >>3828552 said and draw them in clumps like hair.

Look at photos of real machines.

You don't need to draw every chip and solder point on a circuit board--just give the suggestion of the major objects and geometry.

Don't be afraid to trace pieces that you like to get a feel for how the artist approached the linework.

Every tube is a series of eclipses connect by a curve. You can also create your own tools to draw parallel lines. Shave off one side each of two pencils and tape them together so you have 2 points. Draw curves. Boom, cables.

In my opinion if you are gonna go crazy with cables black out and carve out the background in a solid black(dark) colour and then do the front cables in details.

In my opinion use less cables but make the cables you do use sort of functional.. or atleast look like it with more detail (plug endings etc).

I treat them like textures; differentiate the sizes, shapes, and exterior to imply variation in types and fuctions. Repeat the textures at places that have the same purpose, like joints and limbs.
