It's weird, I love everything about the old japanese paintings except for the people, they look atrocious. The landscapes or stuff with just animals looks great though.

I like fauvism and post impressionism, Seems like an inbetween time between the old strict ways of art and then it breaking down into people writing thier names on toilets and taking a shit in a can

I'm between Romanticism and Impressionism. Can't decide.
Although I support more the Realist stance than the Romantic one, I still prefer Romanticism in painting, because most Realists couldn't deliver in the end, since I found their work seemed often artificial, unnatural and dishonest as much as ordinary when the subject matter was people. Only through impressionism the mundane came to be.
The russian realists were the most based ones though.

In general the 19th century was such an interesting period.
